May's UFO is Done...

...and done early!  It was a small one, but still, it's another finish for 2014!
This quilt began the month as a completely pieced top.  It was begun last fall sometime, so it's only less than a year old (a baby in the pile of UFOs)!  You can read more about it here in last week's post.
First thing after writing my UFO goal post was to get this baby on the frame.  I quilted it up with a quick flame panto (it actually goes really well...you'll just have to believe me...but you probably don't right??!)
Then I just added the hanging sleeve, binding and label! This one was easy peasy to finish up!  All the tiny piecing was long done, so it took no time at all.

May UFO Goal

"Remember Me" was the first project of my Prairie Women's Sewing Circle (PWSC) group's Journey 2 that began last fall.  When making the blocks, I altered it just a bit by piecing the signature blocks and adding star points around the outside cornerstones (the originally pattern calls for appliqued circles and plain square in a square cornerstones).  The blocks were signed in December by ladies in the PWSC and my Sew Day groups.  Now it's about time to make a binding, backing, hanging sleeve, label and get it quilted up.

More about PWSC and this quilt can be found in this post.  "When this you see, Remember me!"

And...a bonus goal for May...our basement renovation project will begin.  We are combining 2 rooms to create a sewing studio for me.  Hubby is getting a home theater and a walk-thru game room for the pool table.  Finally, they are updating 2 bathrooms (one in the basement and one on the upstairs floor); Dh is also updating bathroom cabinets in 2 additional bathrooms and replacing all of the countertops in all 5 bathrooms.  Oh yeah, the goal is...not to get too frustrated with having all of the workers in and out of the house (and not having my sewing area available).  Hopefully they will be done right at the end of the month as they have given us a 4-5 week timeline.

Linking up to A Lovely Year of Finishes.
