Pillowcases for Charity

I've probably mentioned it before, but our local quilt guild supports 3 major charities.  I try to do a little bit for each one (generally just concentrating on one each month).  This month, there was a challenge for items needed for the Genesis House, a local women & children's shelter.

I made and donated 5 pillowcases in the month of April to the shelter.  These are an item that is very much needed.  Many of the residents of the shelters come with little or nothing.  When they leave, they can take the pillowcases with them and in many cases they are used as a "travel bag" to carry anything else they may need to take with them.

RSC - Green

Wow!  Where did April go (not to mention, March)?  How did the months fly by so quickly?  At any rate, I didn't have a chance to post my green blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge last month, so here they are...

Blocks for "Wild Child", "4-Patch Revisited" & "Bowdacious"
All of the block pattern's above are from Bonnie Hunter's (Quiltville) books.

UFO Challenge - May!

How did everyone do on the UFO Challenge in April?  Did you finish your #11 project?  My "Easy Street" is finished!  YAY!  I did send it out for the longarm treatment and it came back beautifully done with daisies and dragonflies.  It's all bound with a bright limey green binding and really just needs a label (and hanging sleeve if I get around to it).
May's UFO # is going to be...#9!  Which project is #9 on your list?  Mine is a Family/School Scrapbook update.  I haven't done any scrapbooking in months.  Maybe it's time to start updating again since my youngest daughter graduates from HS this month!  LOL!

In your message, let us know how you did in April and what your project will be for May, too!
